Coffee Chat
Welcome to the very first issue of Black Book Weekly!

🔥 Trend Alerts
School Spirit is exploding right now.
Biggest trends I'm seeing are:
Composition Notebooks
Coquette School Bows
Vintage Pencils
Checkered Backpacks
Mascot Bundles
Football Moms
Bus Drivers
Teacher Appreciation
Instead of making 10 new designs, create a collection.
Example:
"Teacher Era Collection"
PNG,Seamless, Tumbler Wrap, Sticker, 200z wrap, Bookmark, Phone Wallpaper
💰 Profit Play
STOP SELLING SINGLES
Imagine walking into Target.
Would you rather buy:
One pencil for $3 or a school supply kit for $18
Instead of listing- Apple PNG, Pencil PNG, Notebook PNG, Crayon PNG etc
Bundle them into a price of $9.99.
Bundles almost always increase your average order value while saving customers time.
✏️ Design Minute
Use three fonts MAXIMUM.
One of the fastest ways to make a design feel professional is limiting your fonts.
Try this combo:
Bold retro font + handwritten font + sans serif
That's it.
When in doubt, remove one.
More fonts create visual clutter.
🛍️ Retail Corner
Your packaging starts before they open the box.
Customers judge quality before they ever see the product.
Instead of tossing a shirt into a poly mailer...
Add:
Clear bag (I can't harp this one enough it will protect it from weather and give customers a piece of mind)
Tissue paper is alternative but less protective
Thank you card- Who doesn't love a handwritten note!

🤖 AI Shortcut
Need product descriptions?
Try this prompt:
Write a Shopify product description for a teacher PNG bundle. Make it friendly, SEO-friendly, emphasize commercial use, include what's included, who it's perfect for, and end with a call to action.
Then personalize it with your own voice.
Turn One Customer into Ten
One great customer review is a gold mine. Use AI to squeeze every drop of value from it.
Try this prompt:
I sell handmade [product]. Here's a customer review: "[paste review]" Turn this into:
- 5 Facebook posts
- 5 instagram captions
- 3 email subject lines
- A Shopify testimonial section
- A short product description
- A customer story for my website
Keep the customer's tone authentic and don't exaggerate claims.
🎁 Member Bonus
This weeks homework:
Create ONE bundle.
Don't overthink it.
Take products you ALREADY have and package them together.
Then compare your average sale over the next two weeks.
Sometimes making more money doesn't require new items.
👀 Next Week

We will cover:

KYLEE'S HOT TAKE
STOP TRYING TO SELL TO EVERYONE
One of the biggest mistakes I see makers make is creating a little bit of everything. (Yes Im guilty of it too), because they are afraid to miss a sale.
Instead, become the shop people immediately think of for something.
Think about it:
"I need a school spirit transfer"
Go to _____
"I need faith clipart"
Go to her____
"I need funny teacher shirts"
Go to her______
Being known for one thing creates trust. Once customers trust you, they naturally will buy your other products too.
This weeks challenge: Look at your homepage. If someone landed there for five seconds, would they know exactly what you specialize in?
